Mr. Bert Lever, the director of the Central Bureau of Genealogy (CBG) at The Hague, and his wife Clasean de Vries visited us on the 26th July 2008. A gathering was held at the home of the Jansz family in Petaling Jaya.
Mr. Lever explained to the members of the Project about the CBG and what the organisation does.
Thereafter, MDDP agreed to initiate a project for the transmission of copies of genealogies of Malaysian Dutch descendants to the CBG to be safely kept by them.
It was also agreed that the MDDP kept a special link with the CBG. This will allow us to work closer with the CBG on matters regarding genealogy research for the Malaysian Dutch descendants.
After Kuala Lumpur, Mr. and Mrs Lever visited Malacca and had the oppurtunity to meet up with Madam Hazel Westerhout there.
