On 1 June 2011, the Mayor of Wassenaar, the Honourable Mr. J. Th Hoekema launched a book entitled 'All Things Malaysian' at Rumah Malaysia in Wassenaar, The Hague.
The 308-page book was the idea of the Malaysian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Dr Fauziah Mohamad Taib, who edited the English version of the book.
The book was published by Tourism Malaysia and is available in both Dutch and English versions. It contains 24 fascinating short stories about Malaysia written by Dutch nationals from all walks of life based on their experience living, working or simply visiting Malaysia – from historians to virtual artists, engineers, writers, correspondents, travel promoters to ordinary men and women from different parts of the Netherlands.
The book launching ceremony was attended by 120 guests consisting of the 24 writers, the media, Dutch locals with links to Malaysia, and Malaysians living in the Netherlands. A reception was held right after the book launching ceremony.
The book is available for sale at the Malaysian Embassy for EUR10 each.
